Universities teach theory; industry demands practice; and between the two sits a gap that costs young people their first opportunity and costs companies their next generation of builders.
WOXA Sandbox is WOXA Group's answer to that gap — and it is not a concept on a slide. It is a registered Thai company (WOXA SANDBOX CO., LTD., established in the education sector and headquartered alongside WOXA's operations in Khon Kaen), operating the Woxa Academy training center and running structured internship cohorts where university students initiate, build, and refine real projects inside a professional engineering organization.
What "Sandbox" Actually Means Here
In software engineering, a sandbox is a safe space where you can build and test without breaking production. WOXA Sandbox applies the same idea to careers: a structured environment where students can try, fail, iterate and succeed on genuine project work — with real mentors, real code reviews and real deadlines — before the stakes of full employment arrive.
The program is deliberately more than a classic internship. Participants do not shadow employees or fetch coffee. They join real-world project development: initiating their own ideas, building them within a structured framework, and refining them with feedback from working professionals. Along the way they absorb something no lecture can transfer — the professional culture of a technology company that operates to international standards.
Built Like a Real Job, Because It Leads to One
The conditions of the program mirror actual employment, by design:
- Internship allowance — participants receive financial support throughout the program.
- Daily meals provided — breakfast and lunch, plus beverages, every working day.
- Professional working hours — 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with standard company holidays observed.
- Expert mentorship — interns learn directly from industry specialists inside WOXA's engineering teams.
- A friendly, real workspace — the same environment WOXA's own staff work in, not a separate "intern room."
- A genuine path to employment — strong performers receive the opportunity to join WOXA full-time after the program.
From Isaan Campuses to Production Code
The results are visible in the selection lists published by Woxa Academy. The 2025 cohort drew interns from Khon Kaen University (including the Nong Khai campus), Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Khon Kaen campus, and Udon Thani Rajabhat University — placed into Backend Developer and Frontend Developer positions on real product teams.
That regional footprint is the point. WOXA Group's leadership has said publicly that Thai developers are "diamonds waiting to be polished" — sharp coding skills, boundless creativity, rapid adaptability — held back only by the lack of a strong enough stage. WOXA Sandbox is that stage, built deliberately in the Northeast, proving that a world-class technology career does not require moving to Bangkok.
A Program With Momentum
The initiative is growing cohort by cohort. Internship #1 opened in early 2025 and drew enough demand that the application window was extended through April. Internship #2 followed within the same year: applications through 19 September 2025, with the internship itself running from 24 November 2025 to 20 March 2026 — a full four-month immersion timed to fit university cooperative-education calendars.
